IAAF heads north for next Industry Briefing

The IAAF holds quarterly Industry Briefing sessions at member premises, such as Phocas in Coventry (pictured) and Leeds’ Involution

The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) will hold its second Industry Briefing of 2019 at Involution’s new premises in Leeds on Thursday 20 June. The association invites aftermarket businesses to gather for insights into the industry. Sponsored by Involution, head of membership development, Mike Smallbone will open proceedings, with attendees offered presentations on industry developments from industry speakers.

Speakers at the latest session include: Ben Stockton from new IAAF member Our Virtual Academy, talking about upskilling vehicle technicians using video technology; GiPA’s Quentin Le Hetet, delivering five-year projections for the independent aftermarket, including mobility development and the changing dynamics for diesel cars.

Smallbone’s update will include information on the Your Car Your Choice campaign, which recently launched its pilot project in Chesterfield. Main suppliers, motor factors and garages from across the region are currently participating in the pilot programme to highlight further awareness of consumer rights under Block Exemption to have their car serviced or repaired at any garage or outlet without invalidating the warranty.

The session will run between 10.00 and 13.00 with morning coffee and lunch preceding and appending the sessions. Two more meetings will be held later in the year.
