Hankook Tire reports that two awards came its way at this year’s Honda Supplier Conference in the USA. The tyre maker was one of just four “double award” suppliers to receive Supplier of the Year awards for excellence in both Quality & Delivery as well as Value. In total, Honda honoured 85 North American OEM parts suppliers.

A Honda partner since 2013, Hankook has now received awards in the Supplier Value category four times as well as two in the newly merged Quality and Delivery category from the manufacturer.

“The value of our suppliers and what they contribute to Honda is critical to our success and our effort to drive innovation into our products and production processes toward the future,” said Pam Heminger, vice president for Purchasing, Honda of America.

“Hankook values our partnership with Honda to provide the highest quality tyres for Honda vehicles,” said Eric Shirley, Hankook Tire’s director of original equipment sales. “These awards are a reflection of our strong and growing relationship, and it is an honour to continue to support Honda.”

“Acknowledgement from our partners is a testament to Hankook Tire’s technology leadership and premium quality,” said Hyunjun Cho, head of Hankook Tire’s OE Division. “We will continue to thrive as a premium global brand by providing innovative, top-quality tyres to our partners worldwide.”

Hankook Tire supplies tyres to 16 Honda car and light truck plants in North America.
