‘Garages don’t want anything other than Mahle’ – SRS Autoparts

In a time when the automotive aftermarket craves consistency of supply, SRS Autoparts – based in Glasgow and Edinburgh – has invested in its availability of Mahle filtration due to “overwhelming demand” from garages.

Stephen Hoolaghan, managing director of the motor factor, which has been stocking the brand for more than eight years, explains: “We have independent garages that won’t accept anything other than Mahle. Our sales of Mahle products have grown year on year and we’re building something special with the brand in the area.”

SRS Autoparts began business in 1982 as a Steering Rack Services Limited before moving into general factoring just over 10 years ago and membership of buying group Alliance Automotive.

“As we evolved the business, everyone kept saying that we needed Mahle and so without hesitation we adopted the brand. “The product, customer service, technical support and range is high quality through and through and it’s great to be associated with the Mahle brand.

SRS, with 50 staff and 36 vans, supplies the full range of Mahle oil, air, fuel and cabin filters and believes leading brands need to be closer to garages. “We’ve been effective with workouts for customers and this really drives home the message of Mahle. It’s also helping us to win business as not only independent garages but specialised workshops are requesting the brand from us.”

Jonathan Walker, Mahle Aftermarket general manager aftermarket UK & Ireland, added: “SRS epitomises what we aim to achieve in partnership with our customers. The market is constantly changing, so our role as a leading player is to bring stability and consistency of supply to our motor factor partners and their customers.”
