Vredestein to show ‘longer life’ small and large tractor tyres at SIMA

The Vredestein Traxion 65/70 applies Traxion technology to more compact tractors typically found in vineyards or orchards

Vredestein will exhibit its latest Traxion tractor tyres on the French market at The Paris International Agribusiness Show (SIMA). The tyre manufacturer said it would showcase its new Traxion 65/70 for compact tractors along with the latest sizes in its Traxion Optimall VF range for large tractors. “It starts with the unique curvature of the tread cleats,” says Ruud Nijland, divisional head sales for agricultural and industrial tyres Europe at Apollo Vredestein.

“The cleats from all our tractor tyres from the Vredestein Traxion range are positioned transversely to the direction of travel in the shoulder – ensuring maximum traction and reduced fuel consumption in the field – and oriented almost in the direction of travel in the middle of the tyre, reducing rolling resistance, noise and vibrations. The space between the cleats increases from the centreline to the shoulder, which means they are not parallel to each other, thereby not allowing the soil to get stuck in-between. But most importantly the special compound of the Traxion tyres offers unmatched wear resistance and extra resistance to damage and punctures, which results into 30 per cent longer service life than competitors’ tyres.”

The Vredestein Traxion 65/70 applies Traxion technology developed for compact tractors typically used in orchards and vineyards or deployed in public services. The company is targeting countries on the Mediterranean particularly, so SIMA is seen as an important stage for the product.

Launched in 2017, the Vredestein Traxion Optimall VF (Very High Flexion) tractor tyre was developed following extensive research into the specific needs of tractor users and manufacturers. Its range was recently expanded with seven sizes, and is now available in a total of ten specifications. The new sizes are: VF 900/60 R 42 NRO, VF 800/70 R 42, VF 800/70 R 38, VF 710/70 R 42, VF 710/60 R 34 NRO, VF 620/75 R 30, and VF 600/70 R 30.
