Melksham Motor Spares prepares for hybrid with Delphi Technologies Training

Melksham Motor Spares has begun to bring garages together to train with Delphi on its hybrid electric vehicle course. The company said the training would help to leverage the opportunity offered by the latest hybrid technology. Delphi’s IMI accredited hybrid vehicle training programme has been designed to give technicians the confidence and capability to work safely and effectively on hybrid systems.

During the two-day, practical, hands-on course, garages learnt the fundamentals such as how to work safely on hybrid systems, fault finding, maintenance and repair of hybrid vehicles and hybrid systems, components and operation. Upon successful completion of the course, delegates gained IMI level 2 – hybrid maintenance and level 3 – hybrid repair qualifications, arming them with the highly valuable skills and know-how to embrace this new and rapidly growing technology.

With specialist training and tooling critical for hybrid electric vehicles, along with the significant service opportunity for garages they provide, the course proved invaluable for the technicians who attended, all providing extremely positive feedback, with garages looking at further future training opportunities.

Melksham Motor Spares managing director, Phil Dodd, said: “The complex challenge of hybrid electric vehicles means it is essential that garages take advantage of the training available to them. Delphi’s training provides garages with confidence in understanding more about the technology and the support that is in place, as well as the positive impact it can have on their business.”
