Dirk Abendroth named CTO of new Continental Automotive sector

Dr Dirk Abendroth

Dr Dirk Abendroth has been appointed chief technology officer of the Continental Automotive group that will be created when the company’s restructuring takes effect on 1 January 2019. In this role, Abendroth will assume responsibility for global research and development for autonomous driving and connected mobility, technologies that will be brought together within the group by the end of next year.

Currently employed by Byton, the automotive brand owned by Future Mobility Corporation, Abendroth will become the central contact at Continental for customers and business partners in matters pertaining to strategic technology and innovation within the Continental Automotive group. He will report to Continental’s chief executive officer, Dr Elmar Degenhart.
