Sailun drops the Jinyu name

At a meeting held yesterday, the Board of Directors of Sailun Jinyu Group Co. Ltd. approved a change of the company’s name to Sailun Group Co., Ltd.

In a Chinese-language filing submitted to the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the tyre maker explained that the new name reflects a change of policy – whereas both Sailun and Jinyu have been its two main brands since the 100 per cent acquisition of Shandong Jinyu Industrial Co., Ltd. in January 2014, going forward the company intends to solely focus upon Sailun as its main brand.

The change of company name and accompanying change in Sailun’s articles of association will be voted upon at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders on 12 October.
