Dunlop SportSmart TT wins Fast Bikes blind tyre test

UK-based motorcycle magazine, Fast Bikes, has named the Dunlop SportSmart TT as the winner of a blind track test of six of the leading hypersport tyres on the market. Testing each tyre independently on the 2018 Yamaha YZF-R1M, Fast Bikes’ Mike Booth considered feel, stability and outright grip on each of the tyres tested.

The Dunlop SportSmart TT is the latest in the hypersport range, offering a road tyre that’s ready for the track. NTEC RT technology allows the rear pressure to be lowered, enlarging the contact patch and maximizing grip when moving from the road to the track. Speed Vent Tread also allows for optimal performance through demanding circuits, using aerodynamics to manage tyre temperatures.

Fast Bikes noted the high performance of the SportSmart TT commenting: “The front always felt mega planted, so much so that it gave me the confidence to brake harder and trail the brakes right into the turns”.

Concluding, Fast Bikes added “… they were the road tyre that felt the closest to a race tyre and the road tyre that felt the most at home on an R1M, on a trackday, at Cadwell Park”.
