FER appoints new operations manager

Owen Laurenson, FER operations manager

The Federation of Engine Re-manufacturers (FER) has appointed Owen Laurenson as operations manager. Reporting to the FER’s board of directors, Laurenson will be responsible for proactively managing the day-to-day running of the FER and developing a strategy to further enhance the FER’s reputation and positioning within the automotive industry. Laurenson will also be responsible for introducing value added initiatives to the benefit of existing and future FER members and customers.

Having achieved an (A)MBA, Certified Automotive Engineering Qualifications and Fellowship of the Institute of the Motor Industry, Laurenson brings vast experience in business management and automotive engineering to the FER from his previous roles at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and General Motors Europe.

In JLR he was responsible for major contract negotiations in Europe and Asia Pacific.

Whilst also managing JLR’s European Roadside Assistance Service. Training JLR’s business partners and promoting the JLR Brand to various audiences across Europe and Asia Pacific.

Prior to JLR Laurenson has set up successful business ventures and has held various positions within General Motors Europe at Executive Levels in Business Management, Finance, Corporate Planning, Purchasing, European Customer Care, Engineering and Training.

Commenting on his new role at FER, Laurenson said: “I am delighted to be joining the FER at such an exciting time in the Federation’s history. FER’s members are hugely passionate and take pride in delivering high quality products and services to customers across the UK.

It is my responsibility to ensure that all members receive full support from the FER whilst adding value to their business and to the service the FER members provide to their customers”

Laurenson is also eager to deliver a strategy that further promotes the professionalism and credibility of the FER, whilst sustaining the organisation long into the future.
