LeasePlan UK confirms two new appointments to UK managing board

LeasePlan UK, one of the world’s leading vehicle management groups, has announced the appointment of two senior roles within the UK business; Chris Black as commercial director and Steve Jones as director for future fleet solutions, with both taking up positions on the UK managing board immediately.

Chris Black joined LeasePlan in 2017 as new business sales director, and has significantly expanded the new business team for corporate and international business. The appointment to commercial director sees Blackdirect his attention towards enhancing the commercial division, including profitably growing LeasePlan’s fleet, strengthening key customer relationships and focusing on LeasePlan’s product offering.

The appointment of Steve Jones to a newly developed role in LeasePlan, director for future fleet solutions, marks a clear focus on the future of the car as a service (CaaS) sector. He will be transitioning from his current role as head of risk, with an initial focus on developing and improving the current flexible solutions on offer such as LeasePlan Flexible and subscription service – Subscribe and Drive.  He will also continue to lead LeasePlan’s response to changing consumer requirements in the area of engines and fuel type during the transition to lower emission vehicles.

LeasePlan UK managing director Matt Dyer said: “On behalf of the board, I am delighted to announce the appointments of both Chris and Steve. Chris has impressed since he joined the business last year, and having already seen the benefits of his work, we are excited to promote him into a role that will strengthen our commercial division.

“In addition, Steve’s appointment further emphasises our awareness of the emerging opportunities in the market. His role will be innovation-led in the early stages to ensure we continue the progress we have made to date.

“Both Chris and Steve are big assets for our business and will provide an important voice on the managing board. It is great to see two new internal promotions which enable us to continue and advance the strong position we are in as a business in these areas.”
