Thinking ahead: Hankook Tire preparing for IAA CV

Hankook is bringing a new line and OEM news to the IAA

Even though Hankook Tire is now – as are many within the tyre industry – making final preparations for next week’s The Tire Cologne, the tyre maker is already getting ready for the 2018 IAA Commercial Vehicles fair. Offering a sneak preview of what we can expect to see this September, it shares that the show in Hannover, Germany will host the world premiere of a new Hankook mixed on- and off-road tyre line-up that includes steer, drive and trailer axle fitments. Hankook Tire also intends to announce further growth in its business with truck OEMs.

Hankook Tire will occupy a 200 square metre area at this, its fifth appearance at the world’s largest truck fair, and will also highlight brand activities at a separate outdoor exhibition area. “Since more than a decade the commercial vehicles segment has become of strong significance for Hankook’s overall business, especially on the European continent,” commented Tony Lee, vice-president for marketing and sales at Hankook Tire Europe. “We grow in regards to our OE partnerships, our fleet cooperations and product line-ups.”

Lee also commented on the European Commission’s application of anti-dumping duties to truck and bus tyres imported from China: “Having adjusted all truck and bus tyre production and supply chain some time ago, we have prepared ourselves strategically for further prosperity. Thus, we are not affected by the anti-dumping duties, recently initiated by the European Commission. We look forward to a promising show together with our customers from around the world.”
