Stewart MacAulay, Arnold Clark director, has become Group Autoparts director, based at its head office in Glasgow.

MacAulay has worked at Arnold Clark for more than 30 years, rising to the role of group aftersales director and brings to the independent aftermarket a wealth of experience. He will be responsible for overseeing the successful running of all factor businesses within the group and ensuring their continued success and development.

MacAulay said: “I am looking forward to playing a more specific role within the factor businesses – Autoparts UK and Midwest Motor Factors – and working to ensure we take advantage of any opportunities to develop our proposition further.”

Autoparts began in 1991 as part of Arnold Clark and has since grown at a considerable rate to become one of the fastest growing car parts distributors in the UK. With 12 branches across Scotland and the North of England, including a 70,000 square foot distribution warehouse in Glasgow, it sells 60,000 different parts to trade customers and employs more than 100 staff.

Arnold Clark, Europe’s largest privately-owned dealership group, acquired West Midlands based Midwest Motor Factors in 2015. Established in 1980, Midwest now employs more than 80 members of staff and operates a fleet of over 45 delivery vehicles from five different locations throughout the Black Country, including Bilston, Brownhills, Rugeley, Wolverhampton and West Bromwich.
