Prometeon appoints Kirkby Tyres as Agricultural PHP distributor

After “years of extensive testing across Europe”, Prometeon Tyre Group has announced it is linking agricultural tyre distribution specialists Kirkby Tyres in order to bring Pirelli branded agricultural tyres to market. Voted the NTDA Tyre Wholesaler of the year in 2017, Kirkby has over 60 years of experience serving the market from the firm’s UK base in Liverpool. Kirkby will now be Prometeon’s exclusive wholesale partner serving the UK mainland and Ireland for the Pirelli Agricultural, PHP line.

The news of Kirkby’s appointment as Pirelli PHP distributor follows a period away from the market. Now, after an absence of over 15 years, the Pirelli brand has re-entered the European agricultural tyre market with its premium agricultural line, the PHP (Pirelli High Power) range, designed for high horse power tractors. With sizes focusing on rim sizes up to 42-inches, the range has reportedly met with a great deal of interest within the marketplace.

Simon Michael, managing director of Prometeon Tyre Group UK noted: “Prometeon, with its new PHP agricultural radial range has a product line at the leading edge of today’s technology, and performance and needed a strategic partnership with a UK based wholesaler who could offer the know-how and skillset that Prometeon customers always expect. With Kirkby, we feel we have found that partner”.

Gordon Rosenthal, chairman of Kirkby Tyres added.: “Kirkby have long served the UK market by stocking an extensive range of Agricultural products and serving our customers with knowledge, technical expertise and an excellent delivery service. We’re extremely proud to have now partnered with Prometeon and serve as their dedicated exclusive wholesaler in the UK for the PHP range. Our extensive network looks forward to helping Prometeon establish the PHP Agricultural product range”.

Prometeon recently announced that GB Tyres will distribute its Formula brand of truck and bus radials.
