Doublestar names GB Tyres as exclusive UK and Ireland distributor

GB Tyres made a “significant new investment in …infrastructure” in November 2017

Qindao Doublestar Overseas Trading Co. Ltd. has appointed GB Tyres UK Ltd, based in Tipton, West Midlands, as the exclusive United Kingdom and Ireland distributor of the Doublestar branded range of radial truck tyres.

Commenting on the partnership a Doublestar spokesperson said: “We are delighted to team up with GB Tyres for the marketing of our Radial Truck Tyres in the United Kingdom and Ireland. We look forward to working with the GB tyres team and building a successful and long-term partnership in the coming years”.

Sukhi Singh, managing director of GB Tyres commented: “The quality of the Doublestar brand and the positive customer satisfaction levels with this product have undoubtedly helped GB Tyres grow. Now we have gained exclusive rights to the Doublestar brand, this will only help strengthen our position in the market place and GB Tyres relationship with the Qingdao Doublestar Overseas Trading co., Ltd. There are so many brands available in this segment it was vital for GB Tyres to link with a manufacturer who continually invest in their product range, whilst also understanding the market dynamics of the UK and Ireland.”

Wholesaler recently opened additional warehousing

News of the Doublestar distributorship follows a “significant new investment in …infrastructure”, with the purchase of a new warehouse in Tipton, Dudley in November 2017. This site added an additional 62,000 square feet of floor space and is said to complement the firm’s other site in Tipton. The site became operational in Feb 2018 and keeps a stockholding of truck, OTR, plant and forklift tyres.

Following the firm’s first appearance at the CV Show in 2017, GB Tyres UK is once again exhibiting at the event between 24 and 26 April at the NEC in Birmingham. In order to herald this news, the company posted the below video to its YouTube channel.
