UK-EU transition deal ‘crucial’ for automotive industry – NFDA

The NFDA has welcomed the latest transition period agreement between the UK and European Union. On the day of the announcement, 19 March, Sue Robinson, director of the National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA) said: “The transitional period, from 29 March 2019 to December 2020, will provide businesses with a level of certainty that has been lacking. This will be crucial in enabling automotive retailers to continue with the large levels of investments that they frequently make and ensure that this important industry remains strong.

“NFDA is pleased that Government will now be able to focus on negotiating a final agreement with the EU and develop the UK’s future trade relationship with the EU, which we hope will remain frictionless, notably in Northern Ireland, and provide continued access to skilled technicians for our industry.”
