AA Guide Price: the ‘life saving’ tool for busy garages

AA Garage Guide, the online search and booking site for MOTs, servicing and repairs that puts quality first, says that its new Guide Price tool is already helping to make the garages in their network more efficient, saving them time and money by not having to quote on jobs.

Motorists simply enter their VRM on the website, and, by using mileage calculated from their last MOT which they can choose to update, the Guide Price does the rest for them. Calculated by an algorithm, quotations are automated for servicing work and displaying the results alongside each opted-in garage’s details. The website also shows motorists what is usually included in the recommended service based on their current mileage.

To ensure complete accuracy, Guide Price gives garages the flexibility to amend the proposed price, or simply accept it, once they are ready to confirm the booking.

Research conducted by AA Garage Guide shows that 80 per cent of motorists are more likely to book a service when they see an actual price, rather than calling a garage to request a quote. Garages listed on the site are finding that 70 per cent of motorists are able to make an informed decision, booking services during their initial phone call to the business.

Zeeshan Ahmed, owner of Manchester-based independent, Renovo Autocentre, said that the function has been such “life saver” for the administration staff, who no longer have to spend time on every enquiry searching the best price for parts and materials.

AA Certified since June 2017, Renovo Autocentre was among the first garages listed on the Garage Guide site to adopt the new Guide Price service pricing tool.

“Previously, booking conversion was the hardest thing we tackled when pricing so many different customer vehicle enquiries, and we couldn’t find a way to work it out any faster. Enquiries are now much quicker and easier to handle when receiving calls”, said Ahmed.

“Using the Guide Price tool is far easier than having to work out each enquiry individually. For our customers, this pricing is much clearer and more honest.

“The Guide Price system is fantastic and is 95 per cent accurate compared with the price we would have offered had we prepared the quote ourselves. It really is a time saving tool.”

Trade marketing manager, Mima Rybanska, commented: “The busy garages in our network repeatedly tell us that they struggle to spare the time it takes for their skilled members of staff to prepare quotes, but Guide Price simplifies the process for them.

“Now they’re winning more work thanks to the transparency that Guide Price provides, and their technicians are free to work on more cars.”
