Bartec appoints Steve Umney as Product Manager

Steve Umney brings 20 years of experience with him, most notably with Hella Gutmann Solutions

Bartec has appointed Steve Umney as the firm’s new product manager. Umney is a qualified vehicle technician with experience spanning over 20 years on the workshop floor including valuable technical assistance important to his new role at Bartec. Over last 10 years Umney has gained valuable product management experience in the Automotive Aftermarket managing hard parts and diagnostic equipment, most notably with Hella Gutmann Solutions.

Steve Umney’s role at Bartec will involve managing the development projects of tools from design to manufacture, monitor competitor activity in terms of market share, tool capabilities and marketing and assist in the marketing of Bartec’s full range of products.

Shortly after announcing the latest appointment at Bartec, in January 2018 the company announced the release of software update R57.3. According to the company, the latest update includes additional coverage and some software fixes. OBD assisted relearns are now working on all Mitsubishi vehicles, except the iMiev. Some vehicles may only work with a second tool.

In addition the update brings with it extended: Schrader EZ-sensor coverage (27 make, model and year selections added); extended Huf IntelliSens coverage (27 make, model and year selections added); extended Alligator sens.it coverage (30 make, model and year selections added); and extended relearn procedures (27 make, model and year selections added).
