An agreement signed at Autosport International last week seals Hankook Tire’s status as exclusive original equipment tyre supplier to Peterborough-based sportscar manufacturer Radical. Hankook tyres will be fitted to Radical’s road and racing models, and through the supply partnership Hankook will be represented in various international racing series in which Radical is closely involved.

The British sportscar manufacturer will receive various Hankook tyre sizes for motorsport applications, including the slick (F200) and rain (Z207) versions of the Ventus Race, as well as roadgoing counterpart the Ventus S1 evo², for ‘regular’ Radical cars approved for road use. Radical models now equipped with Hankook tyres include the SR8, a GT racingcar with a performance weight of 5.67 hp/kg. Additional future Hankook-equipped Radical models will be the SR1, SR3, RXC600R, RXC GT3 versions, RCX Spyder and RXC GT Road. The latter is a road-approved model with a power to weight ratio of 5.75 hp/kg which allows acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds. Depending on vehicle weight and intended road use, the Hankook Ventus S1 evo² will be fitted to the front in either size 215/45 ZR 17 or 245/45 ZR 17 and in size 265/35 ZR 18 tyres to the back.

Racing series where Hankook will be represented through its partnership with Radical include the Radical SR1 Cup protype series in England, the North American Masters, the European Masters, and the cup series Middle East, Canada, Australia and Scandinavia.

“The cooperation with Radical is another milestone in our international commitment,” says Motorsports director Manfred Sandbichler. “Radical stands for top performance on the track as well as on the road. We will help to ensure that the vehicles will be at top performance level. Another highlight of the new partnership will be our cooperation in many popular motorsports series across continents; the partnership with Radical provides excellent opportunities to showcase our high-performance products worldwide.”

“We are excited to commence this partnership,” adds Nigel Land, sales and marketing director at Radical. “Hankook has an incredible pedigree at top level Motorsport, founded on its global OEM relationship with premium car manufacturers. After an extensive and highly successful testing programme, the performance, durability and quality experienced ensures that our cars will run the best tyres in 2018 and beyond.”
