Pirelli-supported Autosport Awards celebrate 2017 winners

The Autosport Awards, sponsored by Pirelli, took place in London on Sunday to celebrate achievements across motorsport in 2017. In addition to its event sponsorship, the tyre maker sponsored a number of the awards. Four-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton was named International Racing Driver of the Year and British Competition Driver of the Year, while his Mercedes team won the Racing Car of the Year award for the fourth year in a row.

Charles Leclerc, champion of the Pirelli-supplied FIA Formula 2 Championship, took home Rookie of the Year, while BRDC British Formula 3 champion Enaam Ahmed claimed the Club Driver of the Year title.

The prestigious McLaren Autosport BRDC Award went to Dan Ticktum, who finished on the podium in the final race of the GP3 Series on Pirelli tyres, and also won the Macau Grand Prix. Ticktum impressed the judges in an on-track assessment at Silverstone that included drives in Formula 2 and McLaren GT cars on Pirelli tyres.
