Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure named ‘Tyre of the Year 2017’

Neumáticos y Mecánica Rápida magazine has named the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure the best 4×4/SUV tyre of 2017.

For the 18th edition of the ‘Neumáticos y Mecánica Rápida’ awards, tyre manufacturers competed in five categories: touring car, industrial vehicle, motorcycle, 4×4/SUV and agricultural. After a fierce competition, the winners were selected by a jury of automotive journalists, workshop managers and also by popular vote.

Goodyear states that the award evinces its pursuit of excellence, commitment to continuous innovation and improvement, and its high standards of quality within the SUV and off-road segment. The choice of the jury also supports Goodyear’s claim that the Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure’s performs in on and off road situations. Additionally, the tyre was praised for offering excellent grip and traction, low external noise, excellent mileage and a high resistance against punctures and cuts in the sidewall area.

“Receiving an award in the fastest growing segment is an honour”, said Mike Rytokoski, chief marketing officer at Goodyear Dunlop Europe. “Goodyear Wrangler has an exciting heritage in making the best off-road tyres. Winning ‘Tyre of the year 2017’ illustrates our technical leadership in this important segment.

With this win, the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure sets a new benchmark in the 4×4 / SUV category, after the Goodyear EfficientGrip SUV received the same award in 2012. Last year, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 took home an award in the touring car category, while its predecessors, the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 and the Eagle F1 Asymmetric won awards in 2012 and 2008. In addition, the EfficientGrip Performance was also chosen by ‘Neumáticos y Mecánica Rápida’ magazine as ‘Tyre of the Year 2014’ in the touring car category and, back in 2015, the FuelMax was awarded a prize in the industrial vehicle category.
