Two new additions to Dayton truck tyre range

A further two products are joining the range of Dayton truck tyres available in European markets. Manufactured in Europe by Bridgestone, the first sizes in the D550S steer tyre and D650D drive tyre lines come to market this month.

The Dayton D550S and D650D medium-size tyres target the light (3.5 to 7 tonne) and medium (7.5 to 16 tonne) truck segment, popular with the regional distribution, vehicle rental, household relocation and construction industries. These vehicles typically operate in urban areas and on regional routes, with less time on highways. The tyres are therefore designed to cope with the challenges of delivery operations such as curbing, stop-start use and the strains of multiple short journeys on a variety of road surfaces.

According to Bridgestone, the D550S steer is a robust tyre that combines good resistance against irregular wear with reliable handling in wet and dry. Stone ejectors in the tread add extra value, helping to keep the casing in good condition for retreading. The D650D drive tyre is said to provide good traction and braking response, while the tie-bar tread design helps to minimise heel and toe wear.

Both tyres have a slim-bead construction that reduces tyre weight and fuel consumption without compromising durability. Operators can also count on uninterrupted year-round performance since both tyres carry M+S and 3PMSF (markings. D550S and D650D are available in Europe in the principal sizes 215/75R17.5 and 265/70R19.5 for light and medium trucks, from October 2017, and the line-up will be gradually extended over the next year.

“These two new products give Dayton wider coverage in the value segment of the European truck tyre market where price is king. Backed by Bridgestone, Dayton is successfully carving out a distinct position based on reliability and performance,” comments Steven De Bock, director OE & rep sales operations commercial, Bridgestone Europe.

The D550S and D650D, like all products in the European market Dayton truck tyre range, are exclusively available through Bridgestone Partner network dealers.
