Lesjöfors Springs acquires 65,000sqft UK distribution centre

Lesjöfors Springs has acquired and relocated to a new, purpose-built UK distribution centre at Lindley Moor Road, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. The company said the move into a 65,000sqft facility has been prompted by continued growth in the automotive aftermarket. The new facility will offer the UK’s leading spring supplier almost 50 per cent more storage capacity than its previous premises, with improved transport links to the motorway network and easy access for heavy goods vehicles.

Robert Glynn, managing director of Lesjöfors Springs UK, said: “The acquisition of a new, purpose-built facility for Lesjöfors UK is great news for the company, our customers and the UK automotive aftermarket.  It underlines our ongoing commitment to developing the business in the coming years, and goes hand in glove with our growing UK manufacturing presence.

“We continue on a ‘journey of improvement’ and this new facility means customers will experience even greater levels of service, backed up by our commitment to help them grow their sales of Lesjöfors products, through continued stock management support and regular promotions.

“The increased space, improved materials handling and warehouse management solutions, position us well to maintain our 99 per cent service rate and to meet whatever demands the market throws at us, whilst allowing us to remain competitive through efficiencies.”

WarehouseThe new unit has been designed and built to Lesjöfors’ exact specification, with potential to extend the warehouse by a further 15,000sqft. It is situated on the motorway network, beside the M62, with a dedicated entrance, providing privacy and security.
