Hankook Tire receives Schmitz Cargobull ‘Strategic Partnership’ award

The inaugural Schmitz Cargobull Supplier Day was recently held as part of the company’s 125-year anniversary celebrations. The trailer manufacturer honoured suppliers in a variety of categories during the event, including Hankook Tire, the only tyre maker to take home a prize. Hankook was honoured with the ‘Strategic Partnership’ award.

Commenting on the OEM relationship with Hankook Tire that began in 2013, Bernhard Schmitz, deputy general manager purchasing at Schmitz Cargobull, shared: “We are able to offer our clients optimum transport solutions through our long-term partnership with Hankook. For this reason, we’re especially happy to give this prize to Hankook. We look forward to many more joint projects together.”

Hyun-Jun Cho, Hankook Tire’s vice-president of global product planning, and Dietmar Olbrich, vice-president of sales and marketing for German-speaking markets, accepted the award on behalf of the company. “Thanks to our many joint ideas, our entrepreneurial spirit, and our innovative corporate cultures, Hankook and Schmitz Cargobull have a unique business relationship and partnership,” commented Olbrich. “We feel very honoured to receive this award from Europe’s leading trailer manufacturer. This prize shows that Hankook has established itself as a key player in the truck market.”
