Goodyear appoints Blum manufacturing director of Luxembourg tyre plant

Josy Blum, former manufacturing director at Goodyear’s Hanau tyre plant in Germany, is returning to his homeland to take on the role of manufacturing director at the company’s tyre factory in Luxembourg. He succeeds John Ries, who held the position between June 2016 and September 2017, and has now moved to Germany to take over Blum’s old position in Hanau.

The new Manufacturing Director Lux Tire Plant began his career at Goodyear in 1989 in Colmar-Berg, Luxembourg and since then has held multiple positions in Luxembourg, France and most recently in Germany. He joined the company as QTech Engineer at the former Luxembourg Wire Plant and held various roles at Goodyear’s non-tyre manufacturing facilities in the country, including the role of Production Director Luxembourg Mold & RCC*E/Bladder. He also led the Montluçon and Amiens South Plant as Production Director. Last year, he accepted the position of Director Manufacturing of the German Hanau plant.
