The Pirelli plant in Breuberg, Germany is considered one of the company’s leading sites for the production of ultra-high performance tyres, and to cement the factory’s position a new investment is being made in equipment and facilities. Through this investment of an undisclosed sum, the tyre maker is setting up a new rubber compound processing facility in Breuberg.

Work began last month on a new, energy-efficient factory building to house this rubber processing unit, and Pirelli says it will be completed within the space of five months. “Following the recent installation of a new tyre building machine, the construction of the building and the operational start of the modern compound processing facility is the next step towards preparing the Pirelli plant in Breuberg for future requirements,” comments Michael Wendt, chief executive officer and chairman of the board at Pirelli Deutschland GmbH.
