Hankook presenting tyre developments at IAA

The IAA is, says Ho-Youl Pae, the “best opportunity” for Hankook to present its technical highlights

In addition to presenting a new summer product and design ideas for future mobility concepts, Hankook Tire says its focus at the IAA motor show next month will be on “innovations in premium original fitment tyres and the current winter tyre line-up.”

“We are experiencing the future of driving today,” comments Ho-Youl Pae, Hankook Tire’s chief operating officer for Europe. “The IAA is the ideal platform for current developments and progress in the automotive sector. For Hankook as a tyre maker in the premium segment, it is the best opportunity to present the technical highlights of global R&D activities and demonstrate the increasing development of the company.”

The line-up of current winter tyres to be shown at the Hankook stand (Hall 8, Booth C26) will include the i*cept high performance range, which has been extended by several sizes; this series, notes Hankook Tire, was developed using a special silica compound for central and western European conditions.

The latest Hanook concept tyres – Flexup, Shiftrac and Autobine – will also be on display. These were created in cooperation with design students at the University of Cincinnati and “make ideas of the future tangible”: they climb steps, change lane without changing direction and automatically extend a vehicle’s tyre equipment if more people have to be transported.

Visitors to the Hankook booth can also experience “Future Now” in the Next Driving Lab simulator. The driving experience features the futuristic concept tyre “Ball Pin Tyre” and can be simulated on a large screen with an interactive 360-degree view. Other attractions include meeting with and obtaining autographs from football players from Champions League Team Borussia Dortmund and the current DTM drivers. For all UEL football fans, the official UEFA Europa League trophy will also be on display.
