Development partners selected for Goodyear innovation centre project

The new facilities at the future Luxembourg Automotive Campus should be ready by early 2020

Luxembourg-based general construction company Felix Giorgetti and Belgium’s AG Real Estate have been chosen as development partners for the new Goodyear facilities to be built at the Grand Duchy’s future Luxembourg Automotive Campus. The building concept will be created by Assar Universum Architects.

The new building will feature a gross leasable area of 16,000 square metres and is expected to be ready by the start of 2020. Home to approximately 1,100 employees, it will accommodate Goodyear’s global innovation centre as well as regional and global functions currently based in Luxembourg.

Goodyear describes the facility’s design as reflecting “the company’s vision of smart, safe and sustainable innovation for future mobility.” The tyre maker adds: “It has been designed to nurture connectivity and collaboration between teams and create an open, innovative and inspiring working environment by embracing the advantages of a campus ‘way of live’.” The new centre includes an employee restaurant, gym and event centre for product launches, innovation and media events and exhibitions.

“Moving to the new state-of-the art facilities at the Luxembourg Automotive Campus will be an important milestone for Goodyear,” says Carlos Cipollitti, vice-president EMEA Product Development. “It will further accelerate Goodyear’s contribution to future mobility solutions by developing and delivering smart products and services that anticipate customers’ and consumers’ needs in an evolving mobility ecosystem.”
