Registration for Tyre Safety Month Briefing & Awards open

TyreSafe stakeholders can now register to attend the Tyre Safety Month Briefing which will take place on Thursday 6 July at the Belfry Hotel & Resort, Wishaw in the West Midlands.

The annual event will provide an update on the latest issues affecting tyre safety awareness and will launch the materials and resources available to support 2017’s forthcoming Tyre Safety Month in October.

At last year’s briefing TyreSafe launched TyreSafe 360, an immersive video and app which dramatically exposes the difference in braking distances between tyres just below the legal tread depth limit and those with a full tread.

Tyre Safety Month is supported by key road safety stakeholders including blue light services and Highways England. In 2016, Yokohama and Chelsea FC also leant their weight to the campaign, promoting the ‘Safe tyres save lives’ message via the big screen display at Stamford Bridge and on pitch-side advertising hoardings. In addition, record media coverage was achieved, with a reach of more than 35m people following two radio days.

Details on guest speakers for 2017, including representatives from Highways England, Police and Fire Services and Trading Standards, will be announced in due course.

Stuart Jackson, Chairman of TyreSafe, said: “As TyreSafe’s leading event of the year, the briefing provides an opportunity to update supporters, welcome new stakeholders and inspire campaigns to drive awareness of the importance of tyre safety awareness.

“We will be launching 2017’s dedicated Tyre Safety Month materials which provide the basis for our supporters’ individual campaigns in October. The briefing is also an excellent opportunity to network and share ideas with colleagues in the industry as well as celebrate the significant contribution of our supporters with the evening awards ceremony.”

Places can be reserved using the online booking form at tyresafe.org or by contacting theteam@tyresafe.org Attendees of the briefing are also invited to join The TyreSafe Awards ceremony which takes place later in the evening of the 6th July.
