Continental supplying OE tyres to Caterpillar, jointly developing new products

Continental is supplying the RDT-Master in sizes 18.00R33, 21.00R33 and 24.00R35

A new agreement between Continental AG and Caterpillar Inc. will see the tyre maker equip the 770 to 775 model series of Cat off-highway trucks with Continental RDT-Master tyres in sizes 18.00R33, 21.00R33 and 24.00R35. The agreement also covers a collaboration between the two companies for the design of new tyres for two other Cat products – medium wheel loaders and articulated dump trucks.

“We are happy to announce the cooperation with Caterpillar on top of the launch of our new tyre lines in the mining and construction segment,” states, Jan Skaletz, key account manager for OTR tyres at Continental. “This cooperation underlines the significance that Caterpillar places in innovative technology, the customised solution approach and leading edge technology that Continental now offers in this new industry segment.”

Continental’s RDT-Master tyres feature all-steel radial casings and belt packages for cut and impact resistance; the tyre maker states that this provides “outstanding traction in all directions.” They will be listed on Caterpillar price lists from this year and can be specified by Caterpillar dealers and end users as first fit tyres on new equipment orders.
