Yokohama Rubber names new president, ATG chairman

Masataka Yamaishi (l) will become president of Yokohama Rubber, and Hikomitsu Noji chairman of ATG

A reshuffling of senior management at Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. and its Alliance Tire Group (ATG) subsidiary will occur at the end of March. Hikomitsu Noji, who has served as the company’s president since 1 October 2016, has been appointed chairman of ATG. He begins in this role on 30 March 2017, taking over from Toru Kobayashi, who has held the position of chairman of the Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. subsidiary since its acquisition on 1 July 2016. Upon handing his Alliance Tire Group responsibilities over to Noji, Kobayashi will become an advisor to Yokohama Rubber.

The position of president vacated by Noji will be filled by Masataka Yamaishi, who is currently president of Yokohama Rubber’s Tire business, a job he has performed since 1 October 2016. Yamaishi will continue to head Yokohama Rubber’s Corporate Planning division. His replacement as president of the Tire business is Osamu Mikami.             sg
