Blackcircles looking to enter Asia Pacific markets

Mike Welch’s global aspirations for Blackcircles.com pre-date the Scottish company’s acquisition by Michelin, however the tyre maker has provided a platform for expansion, and over the coming year Blackcircles will work towards establishing a presence on the other side of the world. Speaking with The Scotsman, the founder and chief executive officer shared that consumers in Asia Pacific will soon get to know the Blackcircles way of buying tyres.

The entire region is in Welch’s sights, and The Scotsman names Thailand and New Zealand as two of the markets where the online tyre retailer intends to build up a presence. Welch will visit the region in March and foresees Blackcircles being active in the first Asia Pacific market around one year later.

Touching on his plans for other parts of the world, Welch told The Scotsman that Blackcircles will “just keep going” with its expansion drive; he envisions a day in the future when the company will be “truly global.”
