AlloyGator snaps at booming SUV market with new larger sizes

The larger AlloyGator fitments unveiled at this year’s SEMA show in Las Vegas are now available in the UK and offer alloy rim protection to drivers of SUVs and other large vehicles. Designed to fit alloys 12 to 24-inches in diameter, the new large AlloyGators have been introduced in response to rapid global growth in the SUV and crossover markets and are available in a range of colours.

AlloyGator reports that its new line for larger rims provides “the same level of protection as the original award-winning AlloyGators.” The new protectors feature a smooth rounded edge that gives an aesthetically softer look, as well as a branded embossed AlloyGator fastening clip for additional security and retention.

“It seems that every manufacturer is jumping on the SUV bandwagon at the moment,” comments Curt Rathbone, managing director at AlloyGator. “Bentley has launched the Bentayga, Jaguar has the F-Pace, Porsche has got the Cayenne, even Lamborghini appears to want a slice of the action with the upcoming launch of their Urus next year. SUV’s aren’t just for off-roading anymore, they’re expensive, high-end luxury vehicles, many of which will only ever see city streets, so it’s increasingly important that their wheels are protected.”

In 2015, 80 models of SUV were registered in the UK and their sales accounted for 25 per cent of the new car market, a 26 per cent growth on the previous year. “Growing numbers of motorists are clearly opting for large vehicles as their daily motors, and although they’re excellent cars they’re not always the easiest to park or navigate around town, but with the new AlloyGators fitted, drivers will no longer have to worry about scuffing up their expensive alloys,” adds Rathbone.

The patented AlloyGator system has undergone rigorous MIRA testing and is compatible with most wheel types and combinations. They can be fitted by a network of approved fitters at garages nationwide or are available to purchase online at www.alloygator.com for £84.95.
