GRI acquires Leffler Industrial Tires in the United States

Sri Lankan off-highway tyre specialist Global Rubber Industries (GRI) has acquired two privately held companies that retail and service industrial tyres in the United States. It purchase of Leffler Industrial Tire & Rubber Track, Inc. aids GRI in its objective of broadening its geographical reach, enhancing distribution channels and accelerating its route to market within the USA. GRI states that the synergies of both companies will reinforce its position as a “prominent supplier of specialty tyres in the United States.”

Leffler Industrial Tire is based in Indianapolis and specialises in industrial forklift tyres for the material handling industry. It currently offers product and services in Illinois and Indiana. Kentucky Industrial Tire offers the same products and services in Kentucky. The two firms were respectively founded by Mike and Sherri Leffler in March 2009 and January 2016. “The Lefflers have grown their businesses and revenues year-on-year at a noteworthy pace and to a level that attracted GRI,” comments the Sri Lankan company in a statement. “Their companies offer a wide portfolio of tyres for the material handling and construction industry. The core products are solid resilient and press on band tyres for forklifts, polyurethane tyres, construction tyres, skid steer tyres, OTR tyres and rubber tracks. Services offered include mobile onsite installation and poly fill solutions.”
