Compilator buys Team Systems

Swedish software house Compilator announced that it has agreed to acquire English tyre software specialist Team Systems Ltd on 15 September. As a result of the acquisition Compilator gains about 500 new customers as well as six new employees.

Compilator describes itself as the market leader in business software for the tyre industry in the Nordic countries. The firm’s DackData offers workshops a system that covers everything from sales, warehousing and storage of customer wheels to accounting and ledgers.

“The UK market has a more integrated approach in terms of tyre, exhaust and brake replacements. They also have more margin pressure and thus has a different approach to purchasing and inventory management”, says Anders Paulcén, CEO of Compilator, adding: “We in Sweden, on the other hand, high IT maturity and modern systems. We can both learn from each other and together we will become a very strong player in the European market.”

“Team Systems has web solutions that we believe our Swedish customers will find very interesting. They offer a customizable web shop for trade between companies and consumers that many of our customers demand”, Anders Paulcén continued: “We will now examine how we can make these solutions available on the Swedish market.”

Following the purchase Compilator’s turnover will amount to about £3 million a year, with customers totally 1500 and 34 employees altogether. Customers are located in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, UK and Ireland.
