Second Bridgestone Americas facility for Nashville

The traditional centre of country music in the USA will soon be home to a major tyre maker upon Bridgestone Americas’ move in 2017 from a leased site on the city’s outskirts to a new, 30-storey building currently being erected downtown, and yesterday Bridgestone Americas shared that its presence in and near Nashville will be further boosted next year by the opening of a second location. The new Bridgestone Americas Service Operations Center (BASOC) will be located in the Antioch area of Davidson County and open in the first quarter of 2017; the facility is being set up to support Bridgestone’s IT, Customer Service and Shared Business Service departments and will host some 450 employees and contractors.

“Southeastern Nashville is an area that is currently experiencing a surge of revitalisation and job growth, with similar operations being established by several other companies and the development of new retail and residential opportunities,” said Gary Garfield, executive chairman, president and chief executive officer of Bridgestone Americas. “We are excited to be a part of the growth in and around Antioch, and proud to invest in this area, as well as the broader Nashville region.”

The BASOC will be housed on the second level of a former department store within Antioch’s Global Mall shopping centre. Bridgestone is planning to renovate the building’s exterior in order to bring in additional natural light, and will also improve the site’s parking area. Bridgestone adds that the 77,000 square foot (7,150 square metre) interior will be retrofitted to “optimise the work environment for the teams that will be housed there.”
