Bridgestone backing Props & Pistons

World War 2 fighters and bombers, sports cars and punctured Bridgestone tyres – what more could anyone wish for from a bank holiday Monday? Props and Pistons takes place on 29 August, and while RAF Spitfire, Lancaster and Hurricane aircraft will dominate the skies over the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, those with their feet firmly planted on the ground will enjoy the site of Ferraris, Bentleys, Aston Martins, Porsches and the like. And then there’s those Bridgestone tyres…

The tyre maker says it will “create an unusual spectacle” by puncturing Bridgestone DriveGuard tyres before demonstrating how motorists can keep on driving afterwards. “The event provides an invaluable platform to showcase our new DriveGuard product, which allows motorists to drive for up to 50 miles at speeds up to 50 mph following a puncture,” commented Bridgestone key accounts manager Sam Allatt. “We hope that families will be interested in the technology, so it is a great opportunity for us to be at the show.”

Bridgestone’s presence at Props and Pistons supports that of event organiser, Bush Tyres. The regional independent tyre specialist is donating revenues gained from the show to the Leukaemia Trust. “This will be our sixth Props & Pistons event and we genuinely feel that it can be our most successful yet,” commented a Bush Tyres representative. “We can already confirm an impressive array of marques which we think will generate a lot of interest, while our air show could well be our most enduring spectacle yet. And the more money we can raise for the Leukaemia Trust, the better.”

“It is great that Bridgestone is lending its support again this year and if we see some smiling faces and families enjoying themselves on the day, then all the effort will be worthwhile,” Bush tyres added.

Bridgestone is also giving Props and Pistons visitors – an estimated 4,000 to 5,000 people are expected to attend – the chance to win a free set of tyres.
