Rosava purchases Saehwa equipment for 17-inch tyre production

South Korean tyre industry machinery manufacturer Saehwa IMC is supplying PJSC Rosava the equipment needed to begin the production of 17-inch passenger car tyres. The Ukrainian tyre maker says it is currently working to modernise its production and has invested in the equipment and tooling needed for the manufacture of this rim diameter size.

Alexander Daliba, chairman of the Rosava board and the company’s general director, recently met with representatives of Saehwa IMC and, together with Rosava’s technical director and heads of its tyre design and development departments, discussed the equipment needed for producing 17-inch tyres. The two parties agreed on the acquisition of several items: Moulds for the production of 17-inch tyres, a Saehwa KHP52-180 curing press container for these 17-inch segmented moulds and a PLT-2 tyre building machine drum. According to Rosava, the acquired equipment is expected to begin arriving in August/September.

Saehwa IMC was founded in 1981 and initially focused on the production of tyre moulds before extending its portfolio to include tyre building machines, drums and curing presses. The company operates production facilities in Asia (including China), Europe and the USA, and claims “top ten” tyre makers within its circle of customers. Some 80 per cent of its production is sold in markets outside South Korea. The company’s vision is to achieve sales of US$1 billion by 2019, and within this timeframe achieve a market share in excess of 20 per cent.
