New touring car series to race exclusively on Hankook tyres

All participants in the new touring car series will compete on Hankook’s Ventus Race tyre

Hankook Tire has been appointed exclusive tyre partner to a newly-established touring car series in Germany. The three-year arrangement sees Hankook supplying tyres to all cars competing in the ADAC TCR Germany series; in 2016 the tyre of choice is the Hankook Ventus Race, which will take to the circuit in size 260/660 R 18.

ADAC TCR Germany cars are four-door, front wheel drive vehicles fitted with 2.0 litre, four cylinder turbo-charged engines that deliver around 330 PS (325 bhp) of power. The series calendar for this year includes seven races, of which five are in Germany and one each in Austria and the Netherlands. The opening round gets under way at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, some 100 miles southwest of Berlin, on 15 April.

“We are very pleased about our new motorsport commitment with ADAC TCR Germany,” comments Hankook’s motorsport director Europe, Manfred Sandbichler. “It will enable us to demonstrate the performance of our products to television audiences through a further race series. I’m particularly pleased to collaborate even more intensively with the ADAC, whose expertise, professionalism and fairness we’ve already come to know and value through numerous joint motorsport projects.”

Lars Soutschka, head of motorsport and classic at the ADAC, says the partnership with Hankook is an important element in establishing the new series format. “We welcome Hankook as an ADAC TCR Germany partner and are pleased to have gained such a renowned and strong tyre partner for our new series.”
