Uniroyal truck tyres launch in USA

Uniroyal LS24, LT40, RS20, RD30, HS50 and HD60

While the Uniroyal tyre brand is owned by Continental in Europe, in North America the name belongs to the Michelin fold and has been present in the consumer market there for more than 50 years. The existing North American market Uniroyal portfolio of passenger car, SUV and light commercial vehicle tyres is now being joined for the first time by a heavy commercial vehicle tyre range; six new truck tyres have been launched in the US market.

Brand owner Michelin North America shares that the new Uniroyal tyre line “provides an affordable offer for every tyre position and application.” The range includes:

Uniroyal LS24: A SmartWay-verified long-haul all-position tyre that is optimised for steer axle fitment.

Uniroyal LT40: A long-haul and regional trailer tyre.

Uniroyal RS20: A SmartWay-verified regional all-position tyre optimised for the steer axle.

Uniroyal RD30: A regional and long-haul drive tyre.

Uniroyal HS50: An on/off-road all-position tyre optimised for steer axle use.

Uniroyal HD60: An on/off-road drive tyre.

“We are pleased to bring the Uniroyal brand, which has been in the U.S. passenger and light truck market for over 120 years (the Uniroyal name was adopted in 1961 as a unified brand for United States Rubber Company’s products), to the US commercial truck market,” said Donna Murphy, business segment manager for Uniroyal Commercial Truck Tires. “Uniroyal truck tyres provide affordable, reliable solutions for commercial truck operators.”

The Uniroyal products are positioned below the flagship Michelin truck tyre line and second-tier BFGoodrich range. Michelin North America’s introduction of Uniroyal truck tyres follows Bridgestone and Continental’s introduction of associate brand commercial vehicle lines in North America. Bridgestone North America relaunched its Dayton third brand in 2013, while Continental Tires the Americas began rolling out its latest General brand long haul tyres in mid-2015.
