18-inch rear sizes join Dunlop Geomax range

According to Goodyear Dunlop, the Dunlop Geomax line of tyres has met with overwhelming success since its introduction. In 2015, at World Championship Grand Prix level, Shaun Simpson, Gautier Paulin and Ryan Villopoto all used Dunlop Geomax tyres to win MXGPs. In the USA pro ranks, Geomax MX32 and MX52 patterned tyres have won every Supercross and motocross national championship four years in a row.

And now the tyre maker has more good news to share with motocross riders: the Geomax MX32 and MX52 will soon be available in 18-inch rear sizes. “We’ve had demand from off-road riders who want the same MXGP winning performance in 18-inch as the 19-inch rear Geomax MX series tyre users, so we’re making 18-inch sizes available in January, 2016,” says Andy Marfleet, marketing manager for Dunlop Motorcycle EMEA.

New name for MX32

“As part of this range extension, we’ve renamed the Geomax MX32 tyres,” Marfleet adds. “Therefore, the Dunlop Geomax MX32 is now the Geomax MX3S. The addition of the “S” designates that the tyre is designed for soft to intermediate usage. However, only the name has changed, it’s the same tyre that has won numerous championships, and now it’s available to even more riders in 18-inch sizes.”

The Geomax MX52 will be available in 100/100-18 and 110/100-18, and on top of these sizes Geomax MX3S will also come in 120/90-18. Both tyres feature the same technology that has made them favourites among professional and amateur racers alike, and both tyres are proven World Championship race winners on a range of bikes, including KTM, Kawasaki and Honda.

Goodyear Dunlop highlights the following Geomax features:

· The Geomax MX3S covers soft-to-intermediate terrain while the MX52 excels in intermediate-to-hard terrain conditions.

· Superior grip in a wider variety of terrain from block-within-a-block tread knobs.

· Enhanced handling and improved knob durability via more flex and less knob tearing through recess carcass design.

· Superior bump absorption through damping control sidewall rubber compound and recess carcass design that help to damp out bounce, acting as a suspension component so the tyre can better follow the track surface.

· Directional front tyre design provides enhanced grip and steering feel.
