Findlay Ferguson Picken dies at 84

Findlay Picken was elected NTDA president in 1986

NTDA honorary life member Findlay Ferguson Picken died aged 84 on Friday 25 September after a long struggle with Parkinson’s decease. Announcing the news, the NTDA directorate team and executive officers of the association commented that they were “very sad” to hear of his death and added: “our thoughts are with Findlay’s wife Jean and his family and friends.”

Findlay Picken was a popular and well respected tyre industry professional who worked for companies such as Hereford Tyres and Batteries Ltd, Tyres (Scotland) Ltd, Gorrill’s Ltd, Foremost Tyre Services Ltd and National Tyres Service Ltd, to name but a few.

During his time at National Tyre Service Ltd, Findlay served on the executive council of the NTDA for almost 10 years and was elected as NTDA president in 1986. In 1993 he was installed as an Honorary Life Member of the NTDA for outstanding services to the association.
