Code Approval for IGA’s Trust My Garage scheme

The Independent Garage Association’s Trust My Garage (TMG) Consumer Code of Practice has received final approval from The Chartered Trading Standards Institute’s (CTSI) Consumer Code Approval Scheme (CCAS).

Customers that use a TMG member will now have additional protection above and beyond their consumer rights, including a clear complaints procedure and access to the National Conciliation Service, TMG’s Alternative Dispute Resolution provider.

CTSI’s Consumer Codes Approval Scheme protects consumer interests by setting out the principles of effective customer service and protection. As a part of a CTSI Approved Code, TMG members show that they are trusted independent businesses and are contributing to improving service standards for the industry.

Stuart James, IGA director commented, “This is great news for independent garage businesses as they now have a CTSI backed code scheme. It will specifically identify independent garages that have a proven track record of providing consumers a high quality of customer service.”
