Goodyear all season tyre impresses in Auto Express test

Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-2

The new Goodyear Vector4Seasons Generation 2 tyre has ranked highly in Auto Express’ latest edition to its tyre test portfolio – the All Season Tyre Test 2015.

Receiving ‘Recommended’ status in the test, the Vector4Seasons Generation 2 performed significantly well in wet weather tests. In wet braking, wet handling and wet circle tests the tyre achieved 1st place in each test. This high level of performance is no mean feat after competing with some of the industry’s top players in the All Season market.
Wet weather performance is particularly important for UK roads as, according to the Met Office, 2014 was ranked the fourth wettest year in recorded history and 2015 does not look to improve with the months of January, May, July and August all seeing above average rainfall.
Tyre tester for Auto Express, Kim Adams, reports: “For many motorists, it (Vector4Seasons Generation 2) may well be the preferred choice thanks to its excellent wet road performance – the most common conditions for UK winters. It won all the shallow water tests, which are the hazards drivers face most during the colder months.
“The grip while turning inspires confidence and allows you to follow the desired line even when accelerating.”
The tyre also performed particularly well in Rolling Resistance tests taking 1st place. Kim Adams concluded: “For fuel economy and wet grip, look no further.”
Kate Rock, PR Manager for Goodyear said: “We are thrilled that our new product has performed so well in this influential tyre test. Goodyear created the 4 season segment over 30 years ago, and we consistently develop and innovate. With a long list of successful products, award wins and OE fitments, we are pleased that our new product continues to offer a high level of performance to motorists. The significant achievements in Auto Express’ wet weather tests verses insights into UK rainfall are testament to the importance of this product in our UK portfolio.”
