Rapin appointed Goodyear VP, treasurer

Goodyear Tire & Rubber reports that Peter R. Rapin will succeed Thomas Kaczynski as the company’s treasurer. Rapin joins the tyre maker from TRW Automotive (now part of ZF Friedrichshafen AG), where he most recently directed the company’s global treasury, tax, insurance, and pension functions as vice-president treasury and tax. In his new role he will report to Laura K. Thompson, Goodyear’s executive vice-president and chief financial officer.

“We are pleased to welcome Peter to the Goodyear team,” said Thompson. “He is an accomplished finance executive with extensive treasury experience, an in-depth knowledge of the automotive industry and a proven leadership track record in corporate finance.”

Prior to joining TRW in 2003, Rapin spent eight years with specialty chemical company Engelhard Corporation, where he held the position of treasurer from 1998 to 2003 and assistant treasurer from 1995 to 1998. He began his career at Westinghouse Electric in 1981 and he held various senior treasury positions there.

Thomas Kaczynski has been Goodyear’s treasurer since January 2014. He joined the company in 2013 as vice-president of investor relations, a position he retained until handing it to Christina Zamarro last September. Goodyear states that Kaczynski is leaving the company for another opportunity, effective 28 August 2015.
