Giti Tire names new D-A-CH sales and marketing director

Tobias Stöckmann

A new sales and marketing director has been appointed to look after Giti Tire’s passenger car and light truck activities in the ‘D-A-CH’ markets of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. As sales and marketing director – PCR, Tobias Stöckmann will work closely with long-term regional partner Reifen Gundlach and other distributors to significantly increase market share for the GT Radial brand, while identifying new sales strategies and customers for Primewell and Runway. Stöckmann and his team are also tasked with maintaining robust market intelligence programmes, further developing retail, promotional and media strategies, and they will also monitor and input into the company’s rolling five-year product development plan.

Stöckmann joins Giti Tire from Bridgestone Deutschland GmbH, where he held the position of sales manager. Prior to his time at Bridgestone he worked with German tyre and automotive service chain Vergölst GmbH, where he was responsible for the Continental brand. The new sales and marketing director will be based at the company’s German office in Siegburg and report directly to Richard Lyons, who in addition to holding the titles of managing director for Europe and director of international marketing and sales for PCR products, currently serves as managing director of Giti Tire Deutschland GmbH.

“This is a pivotal role in our D-A-CH operations and one that is critical to achieving our objective of securing a five to ten per cent market share for PCR in core European markets,” shared Lyons. “Tobias has already shown himself to be diligent, hard-working and creative, all proven attributes which will lead the business forwards.”

“I am joining Giti at a very exciting time, especially in the development of the GT Radial brand which has just seen two key product launches with another three scheduled this year alone,” added Stöckmann. “By working in true partnership with our customers and delivering excellent service we will excel and grow.”
