All-season SUV tyres put to the test

Half a dozen all-season SUV tyres have been evaluated in the latest test published by German magazine Auto Bild Allrad (issue 8/2015). The size 215/65 R16H/V tyres were fitted to a VW Tiguan for testing on dry, wet and snow-covered road surfaces, with equal points given for performance in each of the three criteria.

First place in the test went to the Vredestein Quatrac 5, which was rated ‘good’ and pushed its sibling, the ‘satisfactory’ Apollo Alnac 4G All Season into second place. A ‘satisfactory’ rating was also given to the Falken Euro AllSeason 200 and the Pirelli Scorpion Verde AS. Further down the table, Nexen’s N’Priz 4S only managed to take home an ‘acceptable’ rating, while the Nankang NK All Season was considered ‘not recommendable’. Detailed test results can be found in the Tyrepress.com tyre test database.
