Trelleborg won ‘Best Agricultural Tire’ at this year’s “O Prêmio VisãoAgro Sudeste”, in Brazil. Halfords Autocentres must pay a total of £47,000 after technicians in Bristol missed 11 of the 20 basic faults set up on Trading Standards department car. North Avon Magistrates Court ordered Halfords Autocentres to pay just under £15,000 costs, a £32,000 fine and a £150 victim surcharge after the firm pleaded guilty to eight offences under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations.
Following a series of complaints, Trading Standards offices set up the mystery shopper investigation at the Filton branch of Halfords Autocentres in Bristol. While 11 of the 20 simple defects on the car were not identified or fixed, the technician reportedly gave the car back to the customer as if work was complete.

Figures published by ACEA show that, in May 2015, demand for new commercial vehicles in the EU increased (+6.0 per cent) for the fifth consecutive month, totalling 160,550 units. Growth was sustained across all commercial vehicle segments. Following the signing of a multi-year agreement, Continental is now ‘official tyre’ of the USA’s largest football association, the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO). The tyre maker has also become the presenting sponsor of ‘Safe Haven’, a child and volunteer safety programme that is compulsory for every registered AYSO coach, referee, administrator and volunteer helper.

As of 17 July, Frank J. Delesen will replace Daniele Deambrogio as CEO of Pirelli’s German operation and as chairman of the management board at Pirelli Deutschland GmbH. Mexican carrier Morgan Express says ti achieved reductions by retreading over 800 tyres from its fleet with Vipal materials. Morgan has over 40 years of experience in the logistics markets, with facilities in five Mexican cities (Guadalajara, Monterrey, Nuevo Laredo, Veracruz, and Mexico City). The company, which has a fleet of around 150 vehicles, retreaded over 800 heavy duty tyres in 2014, using Vipal’s VEL B and V167 B treads.
