Roy Claydon dies aged 88

Roy Claydon the founder and chairman of well-known tyre wholesaler RH Claydon Ltd passed away on 16 April aged 88 after succumbing to pneumonia. Roy Claydon formed RH Claydon in 1953 and celebrated the company’s 60th anniversary at Newmarket races two years ago.

Company representatives paid their respects, saying: “To everybody that knew him, Roy was liked and respected as an honest, ethical and successful businessman who had a good sense of humour and a kind disposition,” adding: “Roy will be sorely missed by family, friends and colleagues.”
