Goodyear reflects on EfficientGrip tyre test results

Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance

More than a dozen organisations and motoring publications across Europe have put a host of summer tyres to the test in recent times, and Goodyear points out that one particular tyre regularly gained positive results. In these comparative evaluation of various tyre sizes, which were conducted between May and November 2014 and published from February 2015 onwards, the Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance secured a number of podium places, three of them on the top step.

The EfficientGrip Performance placed first in test published by Sweden’s Teknikens Värld (size 225/45 R17), Germany’s ADAC/Stiftung Warentest (one of three test winners in the size 185/60 R14 test – the results were also published by Austrian motoring organisation ÖAMTC and Switzerland’s TCS) and GTÜ/ACE (size 205/55 R16 – test results also published by Sweden’s Aftonbladet Bil). The tyre also secured second and third placements in tests published by the ADAC/Stiftung Warentest, Auto Motor und Sport/Auto Straßenverkehr (225/50 R17) and in two Que Choisir tests (sizes 185/60R15 H and 205/55R16 V).

“We are very proud of the performance of the EfficientGrip Performance in summer tyre tests. The results across a range of premium publications in EMEA help to reinforce the capabilities of the tyre, including short braking distance on wet and dry roads and low fuel consumption over the lifetime of the tyre due to WearControl Technology,” said Hans Vrijsen, Goodyear’s director of marketing for the EMA region. “Additionally, the majority of EfficientGrip Performance tyres are rated A on wet grip and B on fuel efficiency, marking the second year for Goodyear that BA labelled tyres have performed so well in summer tyre tests.”

Alongside these EfficientGrip Performance result, the EfficientGrip SUV placed first in tyres tests from Auto Zeitung (size 215/65 R16) and Auto Bild allrad (joint winner, size 215/65 R16).
