Lancaster Insurance to attempt World Record at MGOC Race Championship

Lancaster Insurance will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the “largest parade of MGs” with the help of the MG Owners’ Club (MGOC). Taking place on Saturday 11 April at Rockingham Circuit in Corby, Northamptonshire; all MG owners and lovers are being encouraged to unite and get involved in what will be a world first. To set a new World Record there must be more than 100 cars in the parade.

The new attempt will take place on the Oval Track after the first MGOC Race Championship event has finished. An official Guinness World Records adjudicator will attend, overseeing the attempt and confirming on the day if a new record has been set. Lancaster will host a free traditional hog roast for all participants.

Richard Morley, Lancaster Insurance’s operations director comments: “We’re proud of our long standing partnership with the MGOC and setting a brand new Guinness World Records title with the help of MG owners is exciting for us. We hope that MG owners will embrace this opportunity by coming down on the day and taking part in a piece of history in the making, whilst enjoying a great day’s racing.”

Richard Monk, MGOC’s managing director says: “We’re delighted to be helping Lancaster Insurance in its quest to become a Guinness World Records title holder. We’re united by a passion for MGs and are honoured to be part of this ‘once in a lifetime’ event.”

All participants can enjoy the day of racing for free. For further information, and to sign up, visit: www.lancasterinsurance.co.uk/gwr. Places are limited and deadline to register interest is due to close on Monday 30 March at 17:00.
